The following are pictures I forgot to post from my town's Fall festival; a wonderful day I spent with two fellow JETs climbing a mountain called Fukkoshi Eboshi and watching the sunset on the bay; and FOOD (school lunches, local seafood, etc.).
Disclaimer: The pictures of Fukkoshi Eboshi don't even come close to doing the view justice. From the top you can see both sides of the Shimokita Peninsula. In other words, you can see the bay on one side and the Pacific Ocean on the other. You can see the whole prefecture curving around the bay--it looks as though Aomori is giving Mutsu Bay a big hug! After hiking we ate ramen. The picture looks a little gross, but the black stuff is seaweed and the food between my chopsticks is a freshly caught scallop. Scallops are SO fresh and delicious here! We also ate canola-flavored, green ice cream and tofu donuts, both of which are mindblowingly delicious.
Enjoy!
